Your Wedding Cake

The Cake Ordering Process

01
GETTING IN TOUCH

You’re getting married! A huge congratulations. Now let’s talk about cake…

As soon as you’ve confirmed your wedding date and venue, you can get in touch with me via the enquiry form, to make sure I am available. This will allow you to tell me what I need to know about your special day (number of guests, general styling ideas, etc).

If you already have a design in mind, have a look at our Cake Pricing Tool which will allow you to work out a price estimate in seconds.

Please note that I take a maximum of one wedding cake per week, so make sure to get in touch as soon as possible to reserve your date.

02
INITIAL QUOTE
With the details you’ve given me, I will send you a first estimate. If you are happy to book, you can do so by securing your date with a non-refundable “Save the Date” £150 deposit (which will go towards the cost of your cake).
03
TASTING & CONSULTATION

For cake orders over £500, I run a complimentary postal Cake Samples box service once per quarter. By opting for this service, you will receive on your doorstep a curated box with the six flavours from my cake menu for you to sample in the comfort of your home with a nice cup of tea (and/or a glass of bubbly!). Should you want to taste the cakes before putting down a deposit, you can do this by purchasing a sample box individually (the fee for this service is £45, including postage).

Consultations are run via a Zoom call. This is when we’ll discuss the design of your cake in more detail - with any change in the quote this might occur, and the logistics of your wedding day. You’ll be sent a sketch after the consultation for final approval. Please note that your cake samples might be sent to you after the date of your consultation, in which case you’ll be able to confirm your flavour choice by email later on.

04
THE LAST STEPS
Once the design and the flavours have been agreed upon, you will be sent a final “Proposal” for you to double check that you are happy with everything. From there, the final payment will be due a month prior to your wedding date. A “Logistics Form” with all the relevant information needed for a smooth delivery on your wedding day will be sent to you. I will also liaise with your wedding coordinator the day before the wedding to confirm delivery time.

A truly talented cake designer

"Isabelle is an absolute dream to work with! As a wedding planner and stylist my husband Tom and I wanted someone we could completely trust to create our wedding cake! Isabelle nailed it! Isabelle was fantastic - she listened to and took on board everything I asked for, she was professional, calm and patient, her cake samples were absolutely delicious and the cake on the day was fantastic! Isabelle is a truly talented cake designer and a perfectionist like me. She will not disappoint and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!"

FAQs

Do you offer delivery?

Yes. Wedding cakes are very delicate and need to be handled professionally, so I always offer delivery as part of the full wedding cake service. The delivery is calculated according to time and distance and will be added to the overall cost of the cake.

How much do your cakes cost?

All cakes are fully bespoke and the cost is calculated on the size, the type of design and delivery fee which as mentioned above will be included in the total quotation. You can calculate roughly how much your cake will cost by using our Cake Pricing Tool here.

Do you make Buttercream Cakes as well as Fondant?

All Zaza Marcelle cakes are finished with a luxury fondant finish. This allows for more creativity and accuracy in matching colour schemes. It also means that in the warmer days, cakes are more stable than those with a buttercream finish.

Do you make sugar flowers?

I mostly work with fresh flowers. These should always be sourced from your wedding’s florist as it will ensure a perfect match with your wedding’s floral theme. The fresh flowers will be left by your florist on your wedding day near the cake table for me to set them up. I also work with wafer paper and crepe paper, have a look at my portfolio for inspiration.

Do you offer wedding favours?

I offer macarons and a small selection of French dry cookies as wedding favours (I currently do not offer bespoke favours such as decorated cookies). Do not hesitate to enquire about these when you get in touch about your wedding cake.

Do you offer sweet tables?

I do indeed offer sweet table packages – if you are interested about this service make sure to enquire about these when you get in touch and I will send you more information.
